The other day, I was walking down the aisle at Target, when I came across their selection of calculators. I was amazed by how many they had; graphing, financial, large button, kitchen measurement conversion, distance calculators and more!
Are people really still using these solar-powered devices? They can’t be, can they? I’m not even 30 yet, but hand-held calculators seem so old to me. (Well, not as old as this…..)
Doesn’t every kid have a laptop these days anyway? If you’re willing to spend close to $200 on a calculator, why not spend another $300 and get a laptop?
I guess the point is this: people still need calculators of all shapes and sizes, in their schooling and everyday life, to make difficult daily computations easier. After all, after 6th grade is over, nobody ever uses long division anymore. Right?
Over the last six months, we’ve developed a suite of calculators and other tools to help people track, predict and learn more about their own health and the health of their loved ones. We’ve even developed some fun stuff for kids and introduced Sam!
We are all looking for ways to get users to our sites, and keep them from bouncing, yet who has the time to spend 20 hours developing something or gathering requirements? Heck, at times we even have a hard time doing this -and we’re the experts!
What simple, yet effective tools are you using on your site to bring in new traffic and keep visitors around? And most importantly, are these techniques easy to implement in your already busy schedule?
